 About Us

The Boys Club of Dothan was established in 1959 and chartered in 1961.  In 1990, the Boys Clubs officially became known as the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Presently, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Wiregrass serve nearly 350 boys and girls on a daily basis with a total annual program membership surpassing 600 youth. 


The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Wiregrass provides:

· A safe place to learn and grow

· Ongoing relationships with caring professional adults

· Life-enhancing programs and character development    experiences

· Hope and opportunity

 

Currently there are Club sites in Dothan, Geneva, Slocomb, Rehobeth and Enterprise.


What are Boys & Girls Clubs?

Boys & Girls Clubs provide young people with a fun, safe and constructive environment. Clubs offer programs services designed to support academic success, healthy lifestyles, and great moral character.

 

Who Do Clubs Serve?

Clubs are open to all youth ages 6 - 18 years of age. Clubs reach out to children and families giving them support, guidance and hope for the future. 

 

Where are Clubs Located?

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Wiregrass serves youth through five Club sites across the Wiregrass:


McMullen Club — Dothan
Enterprise Club — Enterprise
Daleville Club — Daleville
Rehobeth Club — Rehobeth/Headland area
Slocomb Club — Slocomb


Each Club provides a safe, positive place for young people to learn, grow, and thrive after school and during select school breaks.

 

What Makes Clubs Unique?

Our clubs provide specialized programing in character development, educational enhancement, and career exploration. Priority outcomes include helping youth achieve academically, promoting healthy lifestyles and building strong character. 

 

Who are the Club Staff?

Clubs are staffed by paid, trained Youth Development Professionals. Through a system of informal guidance, Club Staff form strong bonds with young people. For many Club members, Club staff are the most influential, positive adult role-model in their lives.
