    JOB DESCRIPTIONS
     Job Information
    After School Hours - Monday - Friday 2/ 2:30pm -6/ 6:30pm
    Some School Holidays - 7:30am -5:30pm
    Summer Hours -   7:30am - 5:30pm 
    Our Motto: Enable all young people, especially those that need us the most, to reach their full potential as productive caring, responsible citizens. 
    Program Staff: Supervises members in program areas. Helps supervise Program Aides and Jr Staff in group.
    Program Aides - Young people still in high school, perform similar duties to Program Staff
    Jr - Staff - Volunteer club members ages 13 - 16 participating in a job training program. Jr staff assist Program Staff & Aides in the day to day operations, supervising and setting good examples for younger club members.
    Front Desk -  Clerical duties performed in the day to day operations. Data entry, payment receiving and recording. Parent contact and liaison. 
    Unti Director - Directs/manages overall daily operations  of the Club site with the primary concern for programs & service delivery, supervision and training of staff, facilities management, membership administration, safety and program participation, community relations.
    Assistant Unit Director - Direct assistant to the Unit Director. oversees daily operations, supervision of staff and members, program planning & implementation, administrative duties. 
    Tutors - Our after-school educational program utilizes both paid and volunteer staff. Our independent site locations have a dedicated space with a class room setting, offering tutoring from certified teachers. Our school sites also offer a quiet space for homework. It is our goal to assist all members in all subject areas between grades 1 and 10. We help both struggling  and gifted students reach their full potential by supplementing the instruction they receive in the class and guiding them toward study practices and aides that can help  them excel in the classroom. 
     Volunteers - Volunteers are vital to the success of programs at the Boys & Girls Club. They assist with homework, mentoring, coaching, programs, special events, club maintenance, and just about everything in-between. If you have something to offer, we most likely have a place for you to volunteer. 

    ADULT VOLUNTEERS
    If you are sincerely interested in inspiring, motivating, and impacting young lives, then Boys & Girls Clubs is the place for you! 

    In order to become a volunteer you must:

    1) Be at least 16 years of age (Youth ages 13-18 can apply for the Jr Staff Volunteer program below)
    2) Complete a Volunteer Application below
    3) Pass the required background check
    When volunteers are needed, we pull from the applications we have received. You will then be contacted to gather more information about your interest and avaiability. Once your background check is cleared you will then be scheduled for a club orientation before officially becoming a volunteer. Please allow up to 2 weeks for this process.

    We no longer offer volunteer hours for Court ordered community service.


    * We understand that some high schools require students to complete a minimum number of community service hours for school. We do offer some limited volunteer opportunities for students who are interested in performing their service with Boys & Girls Clubs of the Wiregrass.     JR STAFF VOLUNTEER (Youth ages 13-18)

    The Junior Staff Volunteer program assists Club members ages 13 to 18 in exploring a career in youth or human services, particularly Boys & Girls Club work. This is an ongoing volunteer position that runs through the school year and/or summer program. 

    Junior Staff Volunteer applications are accepted each year from February- March. 
    Jr. Staff Volunteers 

    Requirements:
    Must be ages 13 - 18 to apply.
    Must attend a minimum of 3 days per week/2 hrs. per day to waive monthly/summer program fees.  
    Limited slots are available for Jr. Staff at each unit. 
    Applicants are interviewed each year for the position. Those accepted are required to attend training the last week of May each year
